Reliable Lawn Mowing Across Durham Region
Lawn mowing — or lawn care and grass cutting, if that's the term you use — is the service most Durham Region homeowners start with, and it's the one where consistency matters most: a lawn that's cut on a real schedule, at the right height, looks better all season than one that's mowed whenever someone gets around to it. We handle weekly and bi-weekly mowing sized to your property, not a one-size-fits-all rate: lot size, obstacles, slope, and how the lawn is actually growing that week all factor into how a visit is scoped. Every mow includes trimming and edging along beds, fences, and hardscaping, plus blowing clippings off driveways and walkways before we leave — no half-finished visits.
Call or text Maple Property Maintenance at (289) 688-3733 — open 7 AM–8 PM, every day.
What's Included
- Mowing at a height appropriate for the season and grass type
- String trimming along fences, beds, and hardscaping
- Edging along driveways, walkways, and garden beds
- Blowing clippings off hard surfaces before we leave
- Flexible scheduling — weekly, bi-weekly, or one-time visits

Why Mowing Height and Timing Actually Matter
Cutting a lawn too short — sometimes called scalping — does more damage than most homeowners realize. Grass relies on enough leaf surface to photosynthesize and feed its own root system; take too much off in one cut and the lawn responds by weakening its roots, which opens the door to drought stress, weeds, and disease later in the season. The general rule among lawn care professionals is to never remove more than about a third of the blade length in a single cut, which is part of why a consistent mowing schedule matters more than an occasional deep cut when a lawn has gotten away on someone.
Height also isn't fixed all season. Most lawns in this climate do best mowed a bit taller through the heat of summer — the extra leaf surface shades the soil, holds moisture, and keeps roots cooler — and can be brought down slightly in spring and fall when growth is faster and temperatures are milder. We adjust cutting height through the season rather than running one setting from April to November.

We recently used Maple Property Maintenance and had a great experience. Nathan cleaned up the side of our backyard, removed a lot of junk and garbage, and even went above and beyond by doing some extra work on the side that we really appreciated. He was hardworking, professional, and paid attention to detail. We're so happy with how everything turned out — the space looks so much cleaner and better now.
