Hedge Trimming & Pruning, Sized to the Job
Hedge trimming — shrub trimming and pruning, if that's what you're picturing — pricing depends heavily on hedge size, accessibility, and how much cleanup and disposal the job generates — a low, easily-reached cedar hedge and an overgrown one along a fence line are genuinely different amounts of work, even if they look similar from the street. We shape and maintain hedges to keep growth healthy and controlled rather than just hacking them back, and every job includes full cleanup and disposal of trimmings — we don't leave a property with a pile of clippings to deal with.
Call or text Maple Property Maintenance at (289) 688-3733 — open 7 AM–8 PM, every day.

Getting the Timing Right
Timing matters more for flowering hedges and shrubs than for something like cedar — many flowering species set next year's buds not long after this year's growth finishes, so trimming at the wrong point in the season can mean cutting off next year's blooms before they've even formed. We time those jobs around bud set, not just whenever it's convenient to swing by.
Cedar hedges, the most common hedge in Durham Region by far, work differently: cedar generally won't regrow reliably from bare, leafless wood, which is why a badly overgrown cedar hedge sometimes can't be brought back to a smaller size in a single visit without risking permanent bare patches. For hedges that have gotten significantly overgrown, we'll often recommend bringing them back gradually over more than one visit rather than cutting hard all at once and hoping for the best.

Real Reviews
We recently used Maple Property Maintenance and had a great experience. Nathan cleaned up the side of our backyard, removed a lot of junk and garbage, and even went above and beyond by doing some extra work on the side that we really appreciated. He was hardworking, professional, and paid attention to detail. We're so happy with how everything turned out — the space looks so much cleaner and better now. Highly recommend Nathan and Maple Property Maintenance for anyone looking for reliable and quality work!

Frequently Asked
How often do hedges need to be trimmed?+
Most hedges benefit from trimming once or twice a season depending on the species and how fast they grow — we can recommend a schedule based on what's actually on your property.
My cedar hedge has bare, overgrown patches — can it be fixed in one visit?+
Not always — cedar generally won't regrow from bare wood, so a badly overgrown cedar hedge is often brought back gradually over more than one visit rather than cut hard all at once, to avoid permanent bare patches.
Do you remove the trimmings, or do I need to dispose of them?+
Cleanup and disposal are included in every hedge trimming visit.

Cost depends on property size, scope, and what's included — Maple Property Maintenance provides free estimates before booking, so you know the price before any work starts.
